The front cover to this book jacket design was created as a physical collage built onto an A3(ish) plywood surface. The base board was spray painted and physically hammered in order to give it the texture i was after and then various elements were glued or nailed onto the board. The ‘city’ at the top was built with electronic components from inside an old TV and PC, while pills, test-tubes, syringes and a testament book were added to keep the image in line with the themes contained within the story. The collage was then photographed and scanned and finally digitally manipulated in photoshop.
The illustration for this book cover design was created through digital manipulation of a standard portrait shot. The features of the face were distorted in order to create the look of a Manga style cartoon character whilst still retaining a ‘realistic’ feel at the same time.
Cover design for a kids Sci-Fi novel. The ‘kid’ pictured was actually in her late twenties (possibly even early thirties) but with a bit of photoshop jiggery pokery that age was reduced dramatically. Basically it’s the left side of her face twice – flipped over for the right hand side, merged and then stretched and distorted a bit and blemishes cleaned up.
Book cover design created using hand drawn elements and found textures comped together in Photoshop.
Book jacket design with the cover illustration of the skull created initially with traditional media, using charcoal on paper, and the drawing then scanned into photoshop in order to create a ‘reversed’ out effect.

A book cover design created initially from a physical montage utilising an art-board with thick paint, spray paint, chicken wire mesh and burnt/melted coloured acetate. The montage was photographed and then colour adjusted in photoshop to create the finished art. You can view more designs in the graphic design folio page.
